Inorganic non-metallic materials 2024

On 7th and 8th February 2024, the 29th annual Doctoral Students‘ Seminar Inorganic Non-metallic Materials, traditionally organized by the Department of Glass and Ceramics at the University of Chemistry and Technology, Prague took place. This year, 21 participants from 7 institutions from both the Czech Republic and Slovakia were registered.

The seminar included a Student Speech Contest, which was judged by a four-member committee consisting of Prof. Dr. Willi Pabst, Doc. Kateřina Rubešová, Ph.D., Ing. Richard Pokorný, Ph.D. and Ing. Diana Horkavcová, Ph.D.. The committee selected 5 winners of the Student Speech Contest, with Petra Šimonová (Department of Glass and Ceramics, UCT Prague) in first place, Jan Zich (Institute of Applied Physics and Mathematics, University of Pardubice) in second place, third place Nasser Hosseini (Institute of Inorganic Chemistry, Slovak Academy of Sciences), fourth place Kateřina Křehlíková (Department of Inorganic Chemistry, UCT Prague) and fifth place Guido de la Torre (Institute of Inorganic Chemistry, Slovak Academy of Sciences). In addition, the Czech Silicate Society, represented by doc. Hana Ovčačíková awarded Klára Pulcová (Department of Glass and Ceramics, UCT Prague).

We would like to thank very much all the participants and we look forward to the next year, which will mark the 30th anniversary!
